Both the Joes and our friendly rival hurling club Naomh Padraig are short on numbers this year. Neither club was able to field a full team for our canceled match a few weeks back, so we made a plan to join our forces and field a combination team. Last week some Joes went up to rally with NP at a joint training, and so this NP/SJ combo team is going to take on the Tipperary junior team this weekend !
Game this weekend
Check out the game at the Gaelic fields on Treasure Island, at 2pm. There’s football games before, and it’s followed right after with a Tipp / Na Fianna senior-team clash, all for $5. For more details, check out the new SF/Western-division GAA’s website at: https://www.sanfrangaa.com/championship
We could also use some help on the sidelines, so contact us if you want to get back into hurling with the Joes – from a distance. I’d be especially keen on having anyone with a tactical eye and a loud voice to help us organize our play and regroup at halftime.
