Training
Please make a note of the following training locations:
- Terman Park, Palo Alto
- Practice Field, Hillsdale High School, San Mateo. Cross street is 31st Ave and Fernwood.
- Stadium, Capuchino High School, San Bruno. Cross street is Park Blvd and Santa Florita Ave.
We’ll be using all of these facilities for the rest of our 2026 season, and we will need you to pay attention to the club Whatsapp group for any late changes. The training schedule has been posted on the Google calendar that is also visible on the home page.

Please pay attention to the calendar on the website and to any announcements on the team Whatsapp group for details, as we will be switching between Capuchino High School and Hillsdale High School for Saturday mornings because of field availability.
All are welcome to attend, camog and hurler alike. Saying you’re coming out to training on the Whatsapp is appreciated.
SFGAA Pub League
San Francisco GAA’s pub league continues on Saturday April 4th at Treasure Island. St Joe’s had a good compliment of players last time and will be coming out in force again. This has been a great introduction to competitive play for our newer members.
St Patrick’s Day Parade
St Joe’s was well represented at the 175th annual San Francisco St Patrick’s Day parade on March 14th. We had players from the past, present, and future helping at the San Francisco GAA booth where visitors were introduced to the sport and invited to give it a go.
Camogie
We are still determined to get a camogie team started in our club and to increase female participation. If you know any women who want to get involved in the sport, please get them in touch with us and we can connect them to some female players that have already expressed an interest in joining us.
West Coast Sevens
The club will be sending a team to San Diego for the West Coast Sevens tournament on Saturday May 23. If you have not already signed up, please let us know if you’re up for it. This promises to be a fun road trip for the club, and again it will be accessible to newer players, and perhaps to some veterans who still have some power in their legs.

Reminder to Register
Registering with the USGAA as a St Joseph’s player is required to participate in USGAA-sanctioned events, and ensures that you are covered by their third-party liability insurance. This is paid separately from your St Joe’s club dues. See detailed instructions below.
Reminder to Pay Dues
We collect club dues separately from your registration with USGAA. We need these funds for field reservations, advertising, and other club activities. To pay dues, Venmo to Will-Mallon. Note how the dues go up after April 27th.
Rates:
- $125 for standard renewal by April 27th ($175 after)
- $25 for first year members by April 27th ($35 after)
- $325 for sustaining club dues, for those willing and able to chip in more!
For full-time students and anyone with other financial limitations, reach out to us directly and we’ll sort something out.

- If you are a new member, follow the prompts to create a profile for yourself. You should end up back at the home page where you can click your name and follow the following instructions for a returning member.
- If you are a returning member, click your name > Select the membership for [your name here] >
- Choose 2026 Men’s – USGAA Annual Membership – Player (if you’re going to play)
- Choose 2026 Men’s – USGAA Annual Membership – Social (if you don’t plan on playing, but still want to stay involved)
- Next > Review Club assignment > Continue to Payment > Proceed to checkout > Enter payment information > Pay $74.45
- Continue to MySportsEngine > Complete Requirement > 2026 Men’s – USGAA Annual Membership – Player (your status will show as “ineligible,” this is expected) > Complete Requirement > Select 2026 Adult Players from the dropdown > Continue > Continue > Ensure your name is selected and Continue > Set your Player Classification
- “Non-Homegrown” means from Ireland
- “Resident” means based in the US
- “Homegrown” means from the US, or anywhere outside of Ireland
- If it’s Homegrown then set your Player Classification H as Resident
- If it’s Non Homegrown then set your Player Classification NH as Resident or Non Resident
- Set Registration Type as First Time Player or Returning Player (If you registered in the system in 2025, even for five minutes, then you should select Returning player)
- Set Country of Birth
- Set Identifying document
- Set Issuing State/Country
- Enter the last four digits of your document’s ID number (you may need to produce this document in the event of us going to nationals)
- Set Primary code played as Hurling (unless you’re also a Gaelic footballer playing hurling on the side)
- Set Secondary code played (you may set this to Mens football if you’re actually planning to play Gaelic football, it’s purely for the USGAA’s data gathering)
- Review
- Check that your details are correct
- Complete Registration
- When you get to the “WOHOO!” you’re done, but to confirm you can go to the dashboard and check that it says “Eligible” next to your 2026 registration
- Then, post in the Whatsapp general chat that you’re registered!
